I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing family week! I am looking forward to hearing about all of the student's adventures over their holiday. It was great to spend time with my family as well as take in some valuable professional learning at teacher's convention. I am feeling recharged and ready for a busy few weeks.
Our Grade One students will be leading a special assembly on Wednesday, February 26. We will be reading a poem and singing a song about love and kindness. This is also PINK shirt day. If possible, we would love all of the students to wear pink shirts today to show our support against bullying. We have been focussing on acts of kindness throughout the month of February and we believe that this is such an important concept to teach our students at a young age. We are also excited to begin our building unit in Science! This engaging unit allows students to explore their creativity through project-based learning. We need as much recyclable stuff as possible to complete these projects. Students can bring building supplies all throughout the week. Your junk is our treasure! Here is the building letter that I sent home before the break.

Our gymnastic equipment arrives this week and we will begin our gymnastics unit in Phys. Ed as soon as it's set up and ready to go. In order to ensure student safety while using the eqipment, we ask that students come to school dressed in comfortable, active clothing.
